# Casebook's Global Search

## The convenient and easy to use search function can help you find a person profile, provider, intake report, or a case.

### Here’s how to search in Casebook for a provider, a person, an intake report, or a case:

- Select the ***Search icon*** towards the upper right-hand corner of the header.
- Enter the term you want to search. 
- Select the ***Search icon*** towards the upper right-hand corner of the header.
- A list of cards associated with your search term will be displayed. Exact and partial matches will be highlighted in the search results.

#### **Definitions**

- **Exact match **- Searches will return only if the exact word/phrase/number is searched. 
    - Example: a search for Tim will not return results for Timothy if the query must be exact match.
- **Partial match** - Searches will return if only a part of the word/phrase/number is searched. 
    - Example: a search for Tim will return Timothy.
    - Example: a search for a number 945 will return matches for 94541 and 94511.

| Organization ID | Exact Match  |
| EIN | Exact Match Partial Match |
| Provider People Name:  First Name Middle name Last Name | Exact Match Partial Match |
| Provider Assignee:  First name Last name | Exact Match (either first and last together or first or last by itself)  |
