Understanding the Work Management Dashboards

Gain visibility into your team's workload and the health of your business processes.

The Work Management Dashboards provide supervisors, managers, and program leaders with a real-time view of how work is distributed across their organization. Whether you're monitoring daily operations or identifying long-term process improvements, these dashboards help you understand both what work exists and how efficiently it moves through your organization.

The Work Management Dashboards include two primary dashboard types:

  • Workload Management – Summary
  • Workload Management – Trend

Together, these dashboards help answer questions like:

  • How much work is currently assigned to my team?
  • Are we completing work as quickly as we're creating it?
  • Which staff members have the largest workloads?
  • Are overdue tasks increasing?
  • Are cases and intakes moving through our organization efficiently?

Workload Management – Summary

The Summary dashboard provides a real-time overview of your organization's current workload.

Use this dashboard when you want to quickly understand what's happening right now.

The dashboard includes high-level metrics such as:

  • Active Intakes
  • Active Cases
  • Active Workflows
  • Active Tasks
  • Tasks Closed in the Last 30 Days
  • Overdue Tasks

It also includes visualizations that help you understand:

  • Workload by status
  • Workload by staff member
  • Tasks created versus completed
  • How work is distributed across your organization

The Summary dashboard is ideal for daily operational monitoring and workload management.

Workload Management – Trend

The Trend dashboard helps you understand how workload changes over time.

Instead of showing today's workload, it displays activity across the previous 12 months so you can identify long-term patterns and operational trends.

Use this dashboard to monitor:

  • Cases opened versus closed
  • Intake reports opened versus closed
  • Tasks created versus completed
  • Changes in open cases, intakes, and tasks over time

The Trend dashboard is especially helpful for identifying seasonal workload changes, monitoring backlogs, and evaluating team performance over time.

Filter Dashboard Results

Both dashboards include filters that allow you to focus on the information most relevant to your team.

Depending on the dashboard, you can filter by:

  • Assignee
  • Case Type

These filters make it easy to review workload for a specific staff member, program, or area of responsibility.

When Should I Use Each Dashboard?

Dashboard Best Used For
Workload Management – Summary Monitoring your team's current workload and identifying immediate priorities.
Workload Management – Trend Understanding workload patterns over time and identifying long-term trends.

Many organizations use both dashboards together—starting with the Summary dashboard to understand current operations, then switching to the Trend dashboard to see whether workload is improving, remaining steady, or increasing over time.

Process Health Dashboards

In addition to the Work Management dashboards, Casebook also offers Process Health Dashboards.

While the Work Management dashboards focus on how much work your team is managing, Process Health dashboards focus on how efficiently work moves through your workflows. They help identify bottlenecks, long-running processes, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Additional documentation for Process Health dashboards will be available as the feature continues to evolve.
